5 creative ways to have plants at home
Now yes, let’s move on to what concerns us. What is the best alternative for placing plants at home? Here are some great and practical ideas:
1. Vertical gardens

They are a great choice for gardens, both outside and inside. You can fix them with palletscales or even vegetable boxes.
The vertical garden with ladder is quite simple; you will only need to place boards between the steps to expand the possibility of placing the pots on them.
With the pallet it gets a little more complex. You can do this by following these steps:
- Sand the surface and edges of the pallet to remove the roughness. You can paint it if you want.
- Stand it upright and put two large garbage bags inside. The plants will be placed on them. Nail the bags to the top edge.
- Fill the bags with substrate or compost.
- Make small cuts in the bags, where you will later place the plants. You can also use this structure to create a practical garden at home.
Finally, With vegetable boxes you can form a similar structure by stacking them. In this case the bag will also go inside, but we won’t put the plants facing forwards, but upwards, where there is the opening of the boxes.
2. In windows
Placing plants in windows will brighten up any landscape in your home. The options are many: you can place a shelf near the window to put the vases.
Another great idea is to take advantage of the bars on the windows to hang pots, or the slits of the wooden shutters. Finally, you can also rig a metal frame with nails near the window frame to grow a beautiful vine on it.
3. Cacti in household items
Have you seen how beautiful the cacti are on the benches, the tables, the furniture in the living room or above the fireplace? It is very easy to find a place for them and a container too.
You can use jars, glasses or cups āthe more beautiful, the betterā so these plants are more showy. Just insert some cactus earth, some common earth, the plant and decorative stones inside to give it the finishing touch.
4. Mini garden in bulbs
To achieve this technique, the following steps must be followed:
- Break the cap off lamp. Wear gloves and be very careful not to cut yourself.
- Remove all items inside.
- Glue the light bulb to a base, which could be a plastic cap, for example.
- Introduce the substrate and then gently place the plant inside the bulb.
- Finally, water with a syringe to keep it hydrated.
If you want, you can also make your own wire stand or even hang it from the ceiling. In fact, you can also insert aquatic plants.
This is one of the creative ways to have more original plants. Undoubtedly, if you apply it you will have something that very few have thought of to make their environments more attractive.
5. Plants on furniture and books

We will close the list with two great options for indoors and outdoors. The first is to use – or sacrifice, you decide which term to use – a drawer that I do not occupy and I introduce the plants inside. You can use the bag technique to coat the wood, like we did with the pallet.
On the other hand, you can also use books to create extremely original and ecological vases. AS? This way:
- Cut out a square in the book with a scalpel; for this, open it more or less halfway.
- Line the top pages with contact paper.
- Glue the leaves that will serve as a vase. You don’t need to do it one by one, just take several. Also put glue on the side of these.
- Cover the bottom of the box with a plastic bag and place the stones.
- On top, add the substrate and finally the plants of your choice.
With these creative ways to have plants in your home, your rooms will look beautiful. You will thus be able to enjoy its great benefits by spending little space, money and time. Let’s do it!
