Sanna Irshad Mattoo received the Pulitzer Prize for his reporting on the COVID-19 pandemic and was on his way to the award ceremony. She said she was pulled over “even though she had a valid visa and ticket”.
This journalist from India never got to pick up her award
The Indian government has not commented on the incident. Mattoo also said that this was the second such incident in the last four months. She asked officials why she was not allowed to travel, but was given no reason.
