Marius Cozmiuc and Sergiu Bejan also had an excellent year, managing to become world champions in men’s doubles.

The two were in great form at the World Rowing Championships in Racice, after becoming European champions in this event.

“I think we will still stay together after this year’s results,” said Marius Cozmiuc, for ProSport.

In the competition held in the Czech Republic, Cozmiuc and Bejan were unstoppable, being clocked with a time of 06 min 28 sec 06/100.

The representatives of Romania beat the crews from Spain (Jaime Canalejo Pazos, Javier Garcia Ordonez), 06 min 29 sec 27/100, and Great Britain (Oliver Wynne-Griffith, Thomas George), 06 min 30 sec 86/100, who also caught them the podium.

“It was a very rich year in medals. I managed to get the brightest medals. We achieved our goals and it is the most important thing for me, because I am going into the new year much more confident and with much more energy”, said Marius Cozmiuc, for ProSport.
