Each skin type needs a moisturizing lotion based on its characteristics. And it is that, in any case, it must perform a different function: hydrate, nourish, regulate sebum production, fight acne, calm or prevent wrinkles.

Find out in this article which moisturizing lotion is best suited to your skin type and thus show off a perfect complexion every day.

A natural moisturizing lotion

Whenever we can, we should choose a moisturizing lotion made with natural ingredients. Therefore, which does not contain parabens, paraffins and other petroleum derivatives.

The cheapest and most natural option is vegetable oils. These provide a large amount of nutrients to our skin.

It is essential to find the most suitable oil for our skin:

  • If we choose it too oily, it will leave our skin shiny and prone to impurities and acne.
  • Conversely, if it’s too light, it won’t give us the hydration necessary.

The first thing we should know is what our skin type is, based on its main characteristics:

  • Dry skin: Dries easily, prone to chapped lips. It’s a skin that it looks dull but sometimes opaque. It is more prone to wrinkles.
  • Oily skin: Although it is the best preserved skin and the one with the least wrinkles, it tends to appear too shiny and can be prone to impurities.
  • Combination skin: It is characterized by oily skin in the T-zone (forehead, nose and chin) and dry skin on the cheeks.
  • Sensitive skin: It is a very delicate skin, which gets red or irritated easily. Sometimes with freckles or visible veins. It is also sensitive to sunlight.
  • mature skin: Rather dry skin with wrinkles, which may appear on the forehead, near the eyes or under the nose. It may also have light brown spots.

Dry skin

People with dry skin need thicker, nourishing oils to keep the skin from drying out and that premature wrinkles may appear. We propose two alternatives:

  • Almond oil: Economical and with a high vitamin E content. Also suitable for dry and sensitive skin.
  • Shea Butter: One of the most suitable oils for dry skin, as it moisturizes, softens and soothes it. It is solid at room temperature, but melts when applied to the skin.

Oily skin

Oily skin is more complicated when it comes to hydrating it. If we don’t use the right product, we can have a rebound effect.

  • Jojoba oil: It is the vegetable oil that has a consistency closest to that of the sebum of our skin, thanks to its high content of ceramides.

In this way the skin absorbs it easily, and thus we have a nourished complexion without shine.

Combination skin

Combination skin needs an oil with the ability to regulate sebum production:

  • Coconut oil: Coconut oil has balancing properties which also prevents blemishes and acne.

Sensitive skin

youthful skin

Sensitive and delicate skin needs a gentle oil that does not irritate the skin:

  • Calendula oil: It is ideal for sensitive skin, prone to psoriasis, eczema, irritation and even burns.

mature skin

Mature skin needs an oil that helps prevent wrinkles and blemishes.

  • Evening primrose oil: Adjust the acne of hormonal origin and improves the appearance of the skin.

We can also add tea tree essential oil to enhance the bactericidal effects and avoid superinfection.
