France’s HAS health authority has published its recommendations on monkeypox vaccination. Those most at risk of contracting the disease through sexual intercourse should get vaccinated.
Men who have sex with other men and transsexuals who have multiple sexual partners should be vaccinated, HAS recommended.
Vaccination “may be considered on a case-by-case basis”
People who practice prostitution and or who work in other ways in “sexual consumption areas” should also be vaccinated, according to Reuters.
Vaccination against monkeypox “may be considered on a case-by-case basis for professionals dealing with sick people,” the authority said, but added that it does not currently recommend a general vaccination campaign for healthcare workers .
