Meteorologists on Wednesday issued Code Yellow and Code Orange heat wave warnings valid for the next few days in several areas of the country.
According to ANM, there will be Code yellow in the counties of Bihor, Arad, Timiș, Hunedoara, Alba, Caraș-Severin, Gorj, Vâlcea, Mehedinți, Dloj, Olt and Teleorman.
In these areas the weather will be hot. Maximum temperatures will generally be between 35-37 degrees, and thermal discomfort will be high. The temperature-humidity index (TUI) will exceed locally
the critical threshold of 80 units.
Code Orange in effect Friday and Saturday
A Code Orange warning will be in effect on Friday and Saturday in the counties of Satu Mare, Sălaj, Bihor, Arad, Timiș, Caraș-Severin, Mehedinți, Dolj, Olt and Teleorman.
In these areas, the heat wave will intensify. In general, thermal values of 38-40 degrees will be recorded in the afternoon, and at night they will not drop below 20-22 degrees, and therefore the thermal discomfort will be accentuated. The temperature-humidity index (TUI) will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units.

The counties of Maramureș, Bistrita-Năsăud, Cluj, Mureș, Alba, Hunedoara, Sibiu, Gorj, Vâlcea, Argeș, Dâmbovița, Giurgiu, Praova, Ilfov, Călăraşi, Ialomița, Buzău, Brăila, Vrancea, Galati, Tulcea and Constanța will be under warning Code Yellow Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
In these areas, thermal discomfort will increase and the temperature-humidity index (ITU) will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units. In general, the maximum temperatures will be between 35 and 37 degrees, and the minimum will be 18-20 degrees.
