Prosecutors from District 1 of the Capital searched a private clinic. The administrator of the clinic introduced “a significant number of corneas, without the special authorization issued by the National Transplant Agency” on the territory of Romania.
“On August 22, the prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the 1st District Court ordered the further prosecution of a natural person and a legal person for committing the crime of importing or removing from the country organs, tissues or cells human origin without the special authorization issued by the National Transplant Agency”, according to a press release.
In the contents of the ordinance, it was noted that during the period 2019-2021, a medical clinic and its administrator, at different time intervals and in carrying out the same criminal resolution, introduced into Romania tissues of human origin, respectively a significant number of corneas, without the special authorization issued by the National Transplant Agency.
Prosecutors executed a search warrant on Thursday, with the help of the police.
