The National Bank of Romania will launch into the numismatic circuit, starting on October 31, a gold coin and a silver coin with the theme of 100 years since the coronation in Alba Iulia of King Ferdinand I and Queen Maria.

The obverse of the gold coin reproduces the representation after a vintage image of the Coronation Cathedral from Alba Iulia, the circular arc inscription “ROMANIA”, the coat of arms of Romania, the nominal value “500 LEI” and the year of issue “2022”.

The obverse of the silver coin reproduces the representation after a vintage image of the Coronation Cathedral in Alba Iulia, the circular arc inscription “ROMANIA”, the coat of arms of Romania, the nominal value “10 LEI” and the year of issue “2022”.

100 years since the coronation of King Ferdinand I and Queen Maria

The common reverse of the gold and silver coins features the portraits and signatures of King Ferdinand I and Queen Maria, the circular inscription “CORONATION OF ALBA IULIA” and the latent inscription “100 YEARS”.

The gold and silver coins, packed in transparent methacrylate capsules, will be accompanied by presentation brochures, as well as certificates of authenticity, written in Romanian, English and French. The certificates of authenticity bear the signatures of the BNR governor and the central cashier.

The maximum circulation for the gold coin is 1,000 pieces, and for the silver coin it is 5,000 pieces.

The sale price for the gold coin

The selling price for the gold coin is 14,100.00 lei, excluding VAT, including the presentation booklet and the certificate of authenticity, and for the silver coin it is 470.00 lei, excluding VAT, including the presentation booklet and the certificate of authenticity.

The gold and silver coins with the theme of 100 years since the coronation in Alba Iulia of King Ferdinand I and Queen Maria have circulation power on the territory of Romania.

The release of these coins into the numismatic circuit is carried out through the Bucharest, Cluj, Constanța, Dolj, Iaşi and Timiş regional branches of the National Bank of Romania.
