in our house we often have unused materials that are not ready to be discarded completely. These are the kinds of materials that can still be used to make a new item and, of course, not make a dent in our pocket.

If you have your own vehicle, you surely have an old tire stashed away in some forgotten corner. To give it a new utility we can make a puff with this material and some others that are very easy to get at any hardware store. Want to find out how? Keep reading.

Materials

  • Two circular sheets of mdf 60 x 60 centimeters (which will serve as the lower and upper covering of the seat).
  • ¼ inch screws.
  • Mounting adhesive.
  • A used tyre.
  • Caulking gun.
  • Rubber bumper.
  • Jute rope.
  • Lacquer in water
  • Silicone.
  • Drill.
  • Butts.
  • Latex.

Instructions

  1. Using the caulk gun, place a bead of silicone around the rim of the tire.
  2. Take one of the MDF sheets and glue it to the wheel.
  3. Fixed with four screws. Use the drill and repeat these steps on the other side, so you have both bases ready.
  4. Start shaping the dough. Take the jute string and start re-upholstering the seat.
  5. For this, start winding the rope in a circular fashion, as if it were a spiral, from above. For each turn you make, glue with mounting adhesive.
  6. Roll up very carefully to get a good finish. The coils with the string must not have a gap. If the rope runs out, grab another one and continue where the last one ended.
  7. The whole tire needs to be covered with the jute string.
  8. Once the jute has been wrapped around the wheel, both in the upper and in the lower part position the rubber bumpers.
  9. These pieces will serve as mini legs to separate the seat from the floor. Screw in with the drill or glue them to the wood with silicone.
  10. Decorate the pastry. You can paint it from the center down with latex in the color of your choice. You need to apply multiple coats so that the paint covers the surface properly.
  11. The top of the duvet should be sprayed with water-based paint. This will give it a glossy finish that will contrast with the colored underside.
  12. On the wood, apply a colorless protective varnish.
  13. Wait a couple of hours for all materials to adhere properly.
